Sushi Avenue: 20+ Years of Consistency
I've been going to Sushi Avenue in Decatur for 20+ years, and if there's one thing I can say about this place, it's consistency, consistency, consistency!
The sushi is always fresh, always delicious, and always exceeds my expectations. After 20+ years, that's saying something!
What I ordered
Yellowtail is one of my absolute favorites, and theirs is always so clean, delicate, and incredibly fresh.
That crunch was out of this world! The combination of textures and flavors was just perfect.
The salmon practically melts in your mouth with that wonderful buttery texture.
Not just sushi
They serve a variety of ramen, and the miso is the one. Perfect when you're in the mood for something warm and satisfying.
Yes, fried oysters! I'm a fan. They also have delicious options like katsu.
The miso soup is comforting, the ginger salad is refreshing, and if you have room, finish with mochi ice cream. There's also a small but interesting selection of Japanese craft beers worth exploring.
Not a sushi lover? Don't despair. Bento boxes, ramen, and other Japanese dishes mean there's something for everyone.

What keeps me coming back after all these years isn't just the food. It's knowing exactly what kind of experience I'm going to have. In a time when restaurant quality can be hit or miss, Sushi Avenue has kept the kind of consistency that keeps customers loyal for decades.
