Breakfast Bunny
Ellenwood has a new breakfast and brunch contender. Breakfast Bunny has opened in a charming storefront next to longtime neighborhood favorite Sudo Bar & Grill, bringing a menu packed with Southern morning staples.
I ordered the salmon croquettes with eggs and grits. Unfortunately, the croquettes missed the mark — dry and under-seasoned, lacking the flavor you expect from a dish with that much potential. With the right mix of peppers, onions, egg, a touch of breading, and some Old Bay, this could easily become a standout.
The eggs, cooked over easy, were spot-on, and the grits were rich, creamy, and exactly what you want alongside a classic breakfast plate.
I was told fried green tomatoes have just been added to the menu, so I’ll definitely be back to try those. Other offerings worth noting include rib tips and eggs, pork chops and eggs, and chicken and waffles. The fried catfish with grits also seems to be a crowd favorite. Traditionalists can stick with the basics — bacon, eggs, home fries or grits, plus pancakes or French toast.
Always good to see new energy in the local food scene.
